SECURITY AWARENESS TRAINING

SECURITY AWARENESS TRAINING AT ESU

Annual Security Awareness training for employees is a requirement of the State of Kansas and ESU policy. We think this is also an opportunity to remind ourselves of our responsibility to protect our ESU information.

Existing employees will be required to go through a training cycle every spring. New employees will be assigned training when they start and annually thereafter.

INTRODUCING KNOWBE4

Security Awareness training is now available through KnowBe4, an engaging and modern training platform. Newly hired employees will utilize KnowBe4 for required security training and all current employees will recertify each spring using the platform.

KnowBe4 also offers videos, games and other interactive experiences to help you test and hone your security skills.

FERPA

FERPA, or Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, is a federal law that provides student and parents the right to access and review student records, establishes a guideline for correcting the education records, and protects the privacy of the student records. Our comprehensive guide details what that means for students, faculty and staff at ESU.
