Employment Process  –

  1. You search for a job and apply for it. If hired, you will receive a job offer letter.
  2. The school or office hiring you starts the On-campus Work Permit process through a system called OnBase.
  3. Apply for a Social Security Card if you do not already have one. A Social Security Card contains your assigned Social Security Number. You will not be able to work in the U.S. without receiving a Social Security Card.
  4. You will Receive an OnBase notice in your email. Open it and enter your passport and immigration information. Then, submit.
  5. If you don't have your social security card yet, you cannot work until it arrives. When you get the card in the mail, bring it to HR so they can add it to your records.
  6. Receive an email that your on-campus work permit is approved.
  7. You can start working.
